So Gem City was a moderate success for team Wannabez. We had a great time with old and new friends, sold some books, and just had a good time all around.
While we didn't sell as many as we had hoped, we did move some copies of the issue #1 preview. Scott was providing original sketches on the back of the issue, which is a pretty good deal seeing as how smaller sketch cards he was doing were more expensive than the book. So it was a bargain getting the book and sketch for $3.50.
Below you'll see some pictures from the con, thanks to Scott, including some shots of those original sketches on the back of the books!
If you'd like to order a copy of this special preview issue, which will include an original sketch of a Wannabez character personalized for you, find it in the sidebar then email wannabez@brantfowler.com and let us know which character you'd like and who to sign it to.
Now, onto the pictures!

Hey, this is Ryan with the Cobra logo, just wanted to thank you guys again for the excellent sketch. I really loved the comic, the art was fantastic. It was the best art of all the stuff I purchased from the small press comic room. The story was excellent as well. Really reminded me of teenage Peter Parker, as well as a more innocent version of Kick-Ass. Great stuff, I'll be sure to check out the first issue when it's out.
